Gajar ka Halwa (microwave)

Carrots cooked in milk and sugar

Type: Desserts Serving: 6-8 Cooking Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • Carrots, grated kg
  • Milk kg
  • Sugar 60 g ( cup)
  • Elaichi, powdered 1 tsp
  • Almonds, blanched and shredded 15
  • Kishmish 15
  • Ghee 60 g (1/4 cup)
  • Vark for garnish
 

Preparation

  • Place the carrots and milk in a microwave dish (should be less than half full) and cook uncovered for 35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or till the milk has been absorbed.
  • Mix in the sugar and cook on high, uncovered for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.

  • Mix in half the almonds, kishmish and ghee and cook for 2 minutes, stirring once.

  • Serve hot, garnished with the vark and rest of the almonds.
