Sabut Aloo (Vrat)

Ingredients

  • Potatoes, small, whole, boiled and peeled 500 g
  • Dahi (yogurt) beaten smooth 1/2 cup (100 g)
  • Dhania powder (coriander) 2 tsp
  • Pissi kali mirch (powdered black pepper) 1/4 tsp
  • Sendha namak (rock salt) 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies 2-3 ]
  • Ginger chopped 2 tsp ] ground together
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Kadhi patta 1 sprig
  • Zeera (cummin seeds) 1 tsp
  • Sugar 2 tsp ]
  • Laung (cloves) 1/2 tsp ]
  • Dalchini (cinnamon) broken into pieces 1/2 tsp ] powdered together
  • Chhoti elaichi (cardamom) seeds 1/2 tsp ]
 

Preparation

  • Mix together, potatoes, dahi, dhania, kali mirch, green chilli and ginger paste, and the salt.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, and add the kadhi patta and the zeera. When zeera splutters, add potato mixture, and saute till fat separates.

  • Take it off the heat, mix in the powdered ingredients and serve immediately.
