120 gm oil
2 cloves
1/4 tsp cinnamon-broken pieces
4-5 green cardamoms
85 gm sugar-powdered
60 gm semolina
1/2 tsp vanilla esssence
blanched almonds to garnish

Oven Temperature: 350F - 180C

Method: Mix together the sugar and powdered spices.

Whip the oil to make it creamy, and add in sugar mixture gradually.

Add the refined flour, semolina and vanilla and mix into a dough.

Shape mixture into small rounds, put on to a baking tray and mark a cross at the center of each khatai on top.

Place an almond each in the center of each and bake in a pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes, or till crisp and cooked through.

Hi ma'm,
I was suffered by jaundice for a couple of weeks...my mom gives me diet like fresh onions and butter milk. I dont like to have it for a long time. I like to have roti without oil. Please suggest me a good diet for jaundice...
Thanks

I am not a medical person. I have heard that oil less and spiceless food is good for jaundice and plenty of juices. But it is better to consult a medical dietician.

Hi Niru Mdm,

I enjoy the recipes you wrote in the No garlic No onion. But however, I do not know what can I substitute amchoor powder even if I do not have raw mangoes. Can you please let me know what I can substitute for Amchoor powder, because here in Malaysia, amchoor powder is not available in many grocery stores. Hope to hear your reply soon. Thank You.

You could use lemon juice or tamarind extract.
