Til-e-Paneer

Type: Paneer/Cottage Cheese Serving: 4-6

Ingredients

  • Paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese), cut into 1 ½” cubes 500 g
  • Garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Ginger paste 2 tsp
  • Powdered black pepper (Pissi kali mirch) 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp or to taste
  • Coriander leaves (Hara dhania), chopped 2 tbsp
  • Green chillies, chopped to taste
  • Yogurt (Dahi) ¼ cup
  • All purpose Flour (Maida) 2 tsp
  • White sesame seeds (Safed til) ¼ cup
  • Oil to brush the grilling pan
  • Lemon wedges and onion rings for garnish
 

Preparation

  • Mix the flour into the yogurt and beat to smoothen.

  • Add the garlic, ginger, black pepper, salt, coriander leaves and green chillies to the yogurt and mix well.

  • Dip the paneer pieces in the yogurt mixture to coat lightly.

  • Coat lightly, the paneer pieces with the sesame seeds and keep aside till ready to serve.

  • Before serving, brush a grilling pan or tray with oil and place over high heat.

  • When hot place the paneer pieces over it and brown over high heat on both sides and serve hot, garnished with lemon and onion rings.
