Ingredients

Potatoes, boiled, peeled and cubed 500 g (3 cups)

Onions, sliced not very thin 250 g (1 1/2 cups)

Green chillies, chopped coarsely 2 (optional)

Oil 2 tbsp (30 g)

Mustard (Sarson) seeds 1 tsp

Curry leaves (Kadhi Patta) 6-7 or 1/2 tsp dried curry leaves

Salt 2 tsp
-
Powdered Turmeric (Haldi) 1/4 tsp

Water 1/2 cup (approx.)

Preparation

Heat the oil in a heavy based pan and add the mustard seeds. When they begin to splutter, add the onions, curry leaves and green chillies, and sauté over high heat till the onions are a little transparent.
Add the salt and the turmeric and mix well, before adding the potatoes. Turn the potatoes around till well mixed, and add the water, and let it simmer, for about 2-3 minutes. You can serve the filling separately if you so desire.
