Savoury Semolina Cake

Ingredients

Semolina 2 cups (240 g)

Yogurt 1 cup

Vinegar/lemon juice 1 tsp

Salt 1 ˝ tsp or to taste

Oil 2 tbsp

Curry leaves 8-10
-
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
-
Pea-nuts, roasted and peeled ˝ cup

Whole red pepper, broken 1-2
-
Fruit salt or baking soda 1 tbsp

Preparation

Mix the vinegar/lemon juice into the yogurt.
Mix the semolina and yogurt together till a smooth batter of dropping consistency, adding some water to it.
Add salt and keep aside.
In a flat based pan with a lid, heat the oil.
Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, red peppers and peanuts and sauté till a little fried.
Mix in the fruit salt into the semolina mixture and pour it into the pan.
Cover and cook over low heat till cooked. Takes 15- 20 minutes.
Loosen edges and turn upside down into a serving plate and serve.
