FRIED ONION RINGS

Type: Snacks Serving: 4-6

Ingredients

  • All purpose flour (maida)sifted 1 cup (250 g)
  • Salt 1 ¾ tsp
  • Baking soda ( meetha soda) 1/1/2 tsp
  • Egg yolk 1
  • Egg white of 1 egg
  • Milk 2/3 cup (160 g)
  • Oil 1 tbsp (30 g)
  • Onions 2 large
  • Oil to deep fry
 

Preparation

  • Peel and slice the onions, ¼ inch thick.
  • Separate the rings thus formed and soak covered with cold water for 30 minute.

  • Drain the rings, pat dry and keep aside.

  • Beat egg yolk and oil well, and add the milk to it while beating so they blend well together

  • Add salt and the baking soda to the mixture.

  • When ready to serve, heat the oil to fry. While heating beat egg whites till stiff peaks form and fold into the milk mixtue.

  • Dip the rings into the batter one by one and fry till golden over medium heat.
