Chhunke hue Sabut Mattar ki Sabzi

Ingredients

500 gms sabut mattar (fresh green peas, in their pods)

2 tbsp oil
-
1/8 tsp heeng (asafetida)
-
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)

2-3 sabut lal mirch ( whole dried red peppers)

1 tsp salt or to taste
-
1 tsp chaat masala
-
1 tsp amchoor (dried mango powder)

2 tbsp chopped hara dhania (coriander leaves)

Preparation

Wash the peas (in their pods) and leave to drain the excess water. Heat the oil in a kadahi or pan and add the heeng, jeera and the whole red pepper.
When the seeds begin to splutter, add the peas and salt. Mix well, cover and simmer till the peas are cooked through. Takes 10-20 minutes, depending on the freshness of the peas.
Add the chaat masala and amchoor, stir to mix and serve garnished with the hara dhania.
