Broccoli and Walnut Mould

Broccoli and walnuts (akhrot) molded in a ring shape with gelatin

Type: Low Caloried Serving: 4 Cooking Time: 30 minutes plus setting

Ingredients

  • Gelatin 1 tbsp (8 g)
  • Water 2 cups
  • Broccoli, chopped and blanched 1 cups
  • Walnuts (Akhrot), shelled and chopped ½ cup
  • Salt ½ tsp or to taste
  • Powdered black pepper (Pissi kali mirch) ¼ tsp
  • Baby corn, cooked and chopped ¼ cup
  • A mould, rinsed in cold water
 

Preparation

  • In half a cup of water at room temperature, sprinkle the gelatin and let soak for ½ an hour.
  • Pour 1-½ cups of boiling water over and mix well to dissolve. Leave to cool.

  • When cool and beginning to set, mix in the broccoli, walnuts, salt, pepper and corn.

  • Transfer into the mould and leave to chill and set in the refrigerator.

  • When ready to serve, pass a knife around to loosen edges, place an inverted plate over the mould and turn upside down. The molded salad will fall into the plate. Serve.
