Shahi Alloo

Boiled potatoes in rich, thick & creamy gravy

Type: Potato Serving: 8-10 people Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Potatoes
  • 1 Big Onion
  • 1 Medium Sized Capsicum (If you like to put)
  • 200 gms Cashewnuts (grinded with milk to make it fine paste)
  • 200 gms Raisins (If you like to put)
  • 200 gms of Sour Cream or Thick Yoghurt (Hunged in Cloth for 2-3 hours)
  • 200 gms Whipping Cream
  • 4-5 Medium Sized Green Chilies
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon of Garam Masala
  • salt to Taste
  • Oil for Tadka (2 Tablespoons)
  • Turmeric, if you want to make little yellow or you can put saffron also give a good flavour and color.
 

Preparation

  • Boil potatoes, peel and diced them and put it on side.
  • Heat oil in Kadai and add diced onion, capsicum, diced Green chillies and Saute it for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.

  • Add cashewnut paste and stir it for 1-2 minutes. Put Garam Masala, salt and turmeric (if u want to) and stir again for 3-4 minutes.

  • Add Sour cream and whipping cream together in the mixture and stir it properly to make it nice and smooth paste and in end put dice boiled potatoes and bring to to boil and slow the heat and let it be on gas stove for 4-5 minutes. You can garnish it with Raisins and coriander leaves.
