Ingredients

Oven Temp: 425 F-220 C

Potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced 200 g
-
Long egg plants (brinjals), thinly sliced 150 g
-
Salt 2 tsp
-
Chilli powder 1 tsp
-
Ajwain 1 tsp
-
Oil 2 tbsp
-
Cream 1 cup
-
Grated cheese 1 cup (120 g)

Bread, grated 2 slices
-
A shallow oven proof serving dish, 12” square, greased

Preparation

Mix the salt, chilli powder, ajwain and oil. Mix half this mixture into the potatoes and the other half into the egg-plants.
Arrange potatoes and egg-plants in a layer, alternating the two, in the greased dish.
Pour the cream all over this layer.
Sprinkle with the cheese and the bread crumbs and bake in a pre-heated oven 20-25 minutes or till tender.
